Burn Benchmark

This morning I headaed out early to activate W6/ CT-136 Burn Benchmark. The first thing to note about this drive is it’s not for low profile vehicles. The forest road is pretty rough. Once you do make it to the top you can park on the side of the road. It’s a short hike up a steep incline, then the hike is easy from there.
I found the benchmark and decided that would be a good place to operate from. I don’t know what is with these summits but the ants are crazy.
The first issue I had was that the app on my droid wasn’t posting my spots. So I had to do it the old fashioned way on the website. I started calling and calling on 20 meters. I only heard one faint station which I couldn’t pull out of the weeds.
So for this activation zero contacts. Don’t know what the deal was, it looks like propagation has come up. Till next time.
