I already had my 31′ fiberglass mast that I used to use for SOTA activations. But the bucket of concrete and PVC pipe just wasn’t enough to keep it vertical. It had already fallen over in the wind. Came out and the thing was on the neighbor’s roof. Don’t worry, their roof was okay.

Pole about 2 feet in the ground set in concrete

In short, I went to Lowes and got a fence pole that is big enough for the mast to slide into. Then I just cut the pole a bit shorter than the mast(when collapsed).

Add in some quikset concrete mix and this thing is not moving. Even here in the bitch ass Santa Ana Winds.

Here you can see the old setup on the left of the mast.
My inverted V was photobombed by the moon.
